Tech Literacy VS Tech Fluency
Rapid advances and changes in technology require frequent updates in terminology to describe how technology in education can enhance student achievement. The new and improved Alabama Technology Course of Study focuses on “fluency” rather than “literacy,” as the former TCOS emphasized.

Technology fluency will allow students to master 21st century skills, such as effective communication, inventive thinking, high productivity, and digital-age literacies to deal with the complexities of life. As technology becomes more prevalent in our everyday lives, higher-level skills become increasingly critical.
