Third Party Websites for Classroom Instruction

Most websites require that users must be 13 years of age or older and have policies to keep kids safe online and in compliance with COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). This list is intended to reference sites that can be used for educational purposes but is not limited to only those listed. Teachers and parents may read the terms of use to become familiar with how the sites are in compliance with COPPA.

Parents: Please review the terms of use and privacy policies of the sites used by your child with your child and discuss your expectations for using the site at school and at home.

EasyBib (Terms) – An online service that provides citation, note taking, and research tools that are easy-to-use and educational

Edmodo (Terms) – Provides teachers and students a secure place to connect and collaborate, share content and educational applications, and access homework, grades, class discussions and notifications

Kuder (Privacy Policy) – Allows students to access and manage various career planning resources.

LiveBinders (Terms) – Allows users to organize and store digital resources and content

Moodle (Homepage) – Used in Cherokee County Schools for the “online experience” graduation requirements by the Alabama State Department of Education. Cherokee County Schools is a registered Moodle site. It is hosted and managed locally. Site policies require secure login procedures to protect any user profiles within the local domain. In addition, it is available for teachers to use for managing online content for their classes if they desire.
