Students are also offered the opportunity beginning in the 9th grade to attend the local CHEROKEE COUNTY CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER for up to two blocks per day.

All classrooms are wired and connected to a new Windows NT network. Every classroom has at least one, many have two, computers that are Internet accessible. We have a fully functioning computer lab with 18 networked computers that are internet accessible. We also have a 21 computer writing-to-read lab used for reading remediation. Some are internet accesable.

School Committees/Teams:
  • BBSST (Building Based Student Support Team) - 10 members - This team helps teachers help students by developing individual plans for students that are referred to them by a teacher. This is our most important team.
  • SACS Accreditation Team - 7 members on the team but the entire faculty is involved - This team is involved with the planning, development, and implementation of SACS standards and objectives.
  • ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE - 6 members - This team rewards students for hard work and achieving excellence in the classroom.
  • SCHOOL SAFETY - 6 members - This team has the responsibility of putting together a revised safety manual for our school.
  • PUBLICITY TEAM - 6 members - This team concentrates on community involvement and awareness of our various school activities. It also has the responsibility of seeing that our students are recognized for outstanding achievements through local media outlets.
  • CURRICULUM IMPROVEMENT - 6 members - This team helps teachers insure that all standards and objectives are being met from particular Courses of Study, SAT, and the Alabama High School Graduation Exam.

    Other teams are formed as needed.
