As a youth, I attended Miami Palmetto High School in Miami, Florida. My alma mater was Brigham Young University although I have also attended UAB, UA at Gadsden, and Berry College. In 1993 I began teaching Spanish at Sand Rock and Gaylesville. During my college years I had the opportunity to study abroad and live with a French family. While I was in Europe I traveled to most of the European countries and I tried to absorb as much of the culture as possible.
My family consists of my four children, my husband, and myself. I have lived from Pennsylvania to Florida and from California to Georgia within the United States and have had the experience of learning in different school systems.
I love teaching. There is an expression in Spanish that means I thoroughly understand. It is "Claro". I love to hear my students finally say "Claro." Learning is also something that I enjoy for myself. There is no end to the knowledge that one can attain if one never ceases to learn. I have a great hope that I can somehow instill in my students the desire to learn. |
