Course Description

This is a basic general art course which satisfies the fine art credit requirements for all diploma types. Art begins their studies with the fundamental elements of art and advance to use such mediums as pottery, oil pastels, water colors, and more. The art classes often do outside work for the community including hall murals and play sets.

Acrylics
A paint containing acrylate resin, used especially in painting pictures.

Ceramics
A hard brittle heat-resistant material made by firing a mixture of clay and chemicals at high temperature.

Oil Pastels
A paint that consists of pigment mixed with a drying oil.

Pottery
Objects such as vases, pots, plates, or sculptured articles that are made by molding or shaping moist clay and hardening it by heating in a kiln.

Watercolors
The method of painting with pigments mixed with water rather than oil.

Weaving
To make something by interlacing strands or strips of any material.
