Automotive Technology

Many tools are used in this class but one of the most important tools is the book. If you are planning to make a career in automotive technology then you will need a good education along with your automotive skills. People in the automotive technology field use skills that they learn in math to solve problems and use the knowledge they acquired in science to understand many aspects of the car's anatomy. Some students will continue using the skills they learn in automotive technology and make a living off of them. Average salaries for beginning automotive technicians are close to $40,000. The best beginning automotive technicians can start out making more than $40,000 a year. Some automotive technicians branch out into other aspects of the occupation. Some of the other aspects are service managers, service engineers, pit crew members, and automotive technology instructors. Some technicians may be able to own their own shop or dealership.
