Cooperative Education is a method of instruction that combines in-class instruction (Related Study) with on-the-job training experiences to help students prepare for a chosen career objective. Content is planned for students through a cooperative arrangement between the school and employers using the resources of the community.
Cooperative education students must meet all requirements for graduation. Students use part of the school day and some hours after school to build skills relatins to their career objective. Students are required to work a minimum of 270 hours per academic year to earn one credit toward graduation. Students who work 540 hours and remain employed throughout the school year earn two credits. No more than two credits may be awarded per academic year.
