| Healthcare Science and Technology is a vocational program that prepares students to provide services to individuals in need of healthcare. The program provides information about the prevention of disease and maintaining good health. The course is for 9-12 grade students. Ninth grade students are required to take Health for the first year. Tenth through twelth graders should be interesed in a healthcare field before coming into this class. There are four classes you have to take in order to be a completer: Foundations of Health Care, Advanced Healthcare, and Specialization I and II are to be taken in order to be a completer. |

HOSA is the subject organization of the HSTE classes. It is affiliated with an area, state, and national organization.
HOSA members learn leadership skills, attend area leadership conferences, sponsor and coordinate the annual blood drive held each December, complete in area, state, and national contests, visit research and surgical sites, tour medical centers, and attend a career day at a local hospital.
