Parents' Right to Know Act -Overview

The Parents’ Right to Know Act (SB48/Act 2024-35), signed by Governor Kay Ivey in April 2024, requires all public schools to post current adopted curricula on school websites.

Cherokee County Schools adopted curricula for each course is the Alabama State Department of Education's approved Course of Study.

Physical Inspection and Complaint Process

If you are a parent or guardian of a student enrolled in Cherokee County Schools and you wish to physically inspect an instructional tool used in your child’s classroom, you may make a request to your school's principal.

If you wish to file a complaint against your child’s teacher under the Parents’ Right to Know Act, you may email the Superintendent.
