Our Mission

We believe that every family wants to be involved in their child's education and that our community deeply hopes to see our local children succeed.

It is our goal to empower parents and families to be active partners in their children’s education by providing accessible resources, timely information, and meaningful opportunities for involvement that support student success and strengthen the school community.

Meet Your Parent Engagement Coordinator

My name is Adrea Tevaga and I am the School Social Worker and Parent Engagement Coordinator for Cherokee County Schools. I have a passion for supporting students’ emotional and social well-being and am committed to working with children, adolescents, and families in educational and community settings.

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Jacksonville State University and I am focused on helping students overcome barriers to academic success, whether through individual connections, group support, or connecting families with resources in the community. I believe in a holistic approach that integrates students’ mental health with their academic and social development.

In addition to providing direct support to students, I collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop programs that foster a positive school climate, offer professional development on trauma-informed care, and serve as a liaison between the school and local agencies.

You can contact me at atevaga@cherokeek12.org or at 256-927-3362, ext 136.
